For you football fans out there, you know just how upsetting it is when your team isn't doing well......It sucks!!! You spend all year long glued to your tv for every game, hoping for a win, and later down the road, a chance at a playoff spot. So of course we as fans of losing football teams need to place blame on somebody, or something, for why our team isn't doing what they should be. Me being a loyal Raider fan, I've become very accustomed to defending my team to others, making excuses for why we've done so terrible over the past 10 years and who's fault it is. When your team has done as badly as the Raiders have this past decade, you're now just trying to sell the excuses to yourself...........Living with 49er fans like I do, I have to be on constant team defend mode just in case. haha.
To get to my main point, I just saw a few minutes ago on TV, some very upsetting news about my team, which inspired this rants title. THEY FUCKING FIRED ANOTHER DAMN COACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM FUCKING PISSED!!!!!! The goddamn idiot new owner of the Raiders Mark Davis, hired a new general manager, who's immediate action was to fire our coach Hue Jackson. Mark Davis is the late Al Davis' son, who died midway through our season this year. He was both owner and GM of the Raiders, but apparently his stupid ass son can't handle all the responsibility of those two jobs that Al Davis was still doing in his 80's.
Since 2002, which was the last time we made the playoffs(plus went to the superbowl) we have had 7 different coaches, an NFL record. I can completely understand why they fired the first 5, as none were able to produce a season better than 5-11. What baffles the fuck out me though, is the firing of these past 2 coaches: Tom Cable, and now Hue Jackson. They are the only 2 coaches in the past 10 years to get the Raiders a non losing record, both years at 8-8. They kept Tom Cable for 3 seasons even though his first 2 season were the same dismal records we had become used to, 1st at 4-8, 2nd at 5-11. This of course was all due to the inept quarterback capabilities of Jamarcus Russel, which was very obviously apparent, because the season after they fire Jamarcus, they go 8-8. WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU FIRE A COACH WHO DELIVERS THE FIRST FUCKING WINNING SEASON IN YEARS MORONS!!!!!!
That had to be some weird, backwards ass meeting when they fired him. "Hey Tom, you've done a great job this year. Your stats are good, we realized what our main problem was when we got rid of Jamarcus Russel. You've brought this team together for the first time in years, and motivated them to believe they could win more games. You even managed to give us a long overdue winning season. So congratulations Tom. YOUR FIRED!!!!!" That really pissed me off last year, not as pissed as I am right now though.
After firing Tom Cable, they promote the offensive coordinator Hue Jackson to head coach, which was a good decision because the team didn't have to make a huge adjustment in play calling. He comes in his first season as head coach, and in my opinion does an excellent job with the football team, better even than his Cable. He unfortunately had a lot of things go wrong for him this year with the mass amount of injuries that put our 2 most important players out for the season, as well as causing many starting wide receivers to miss several games, had to scramble to make a deal to get a replacement QB, Carson Palmer, (who only had 72 hours notice and hadn't played football in a year) in a week, plus have to deal with his teams owner and consultant Al Davis dying mid-season. On top of all of that, he still manages an 8-8 season. That's damn good considering, if you ask me.
These moronic team management members need to be schooled on shit, because they just can't understand why their team can't win more games, so it must all fall on the head coach, because he's the one out there throwing and catching the ball right. Let me state the most obvious observation about this idiotic nonsense. HOW THEY FUCKING EXPECT TO HAVE A STEADY GODDAMN FOOTBALL TEAM WHEN THE PLAYERS CAN'T EVEN GET ACCUSTOMED TO ONE SET COACHING STYLE!!!!!??? HOW THE FUCK ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO PLAY BETTER WHEN NOW THEY HAVE TO LEARN A COMPLETELY NEW PLAYBOOK OVER THE SUMMER AFTER THEY WERE JUST GETTING THE HANG OF THIS ONE, YOU FUCKING IDIOT PIECES OF SHIT!!!! MARK DAVIS DOESN'T DESERVE TO HAVE THE DAVIS LAST NAME, LET ALONE ANY ASSOCIATION WITH THE OAKLAND RAIDERS!!
Hue Jackson has been one of the gutsiest play callers I've ever seen, and orchestrates some absolutely beautiful trick plays. How many times does he have to convert fake punts and field goals into touchdowns in one year to get it through these managers fucking heads that he knows what it takes to finally be able to turn this team around. But now he doesn't get the chance, and us Raider fans have to go through this shit once again. A coach who is unfamiliar with the team, and a team that is unfamiliar with the coach. It seems this strategy has worked out well for them these past 10 seasons............NOT!!!! (Borat reference lol) But hey, 8th time has got to be the charm right? So I'll end this posting by saying the same thing I've had to say after every football season this previous decade. "We'll get it next year!"
